How to print shipping labels from your phone with a Bluetooth printer
Buy the label on the platform, save it as a PDF on your phone, connect the printer inside its maker's own app, then get the label into that app and print at 4x6. For the Phomemo 241BT the app is Labelife, and Phomemo's help center says to connect the printer in Labelife "instead of pairing it directly to your phone's Bluetooth". Pirate Ship, Shopify and eBay all describe phone printing, but their steps end at a saved PDF, the phone's print dialog or a QR code, so the step to confirm before you buy any Bluetooth printer is how its app imports the label.

We did not test these printers ourselves. Phomemo's details come from Phomemo's own product and help pages, the JADENS and Omezizy descriptions come from their Amazon listing titles, and the platform steps come from each platform's help pages.
The five steps
- Set the label size before you buy. Choose 4x6 for a 4x6 thermal printer. Pirate Ship says to select the 4x6 option in its General Settings first, and that changing the size after purchase means refunding and starting over. eBay lists 4 x 6 in. as a print format and says "The label size format can only be adjusted before purchasing the label." Shopify offers a Thermal (4 x 6 inch / 100 x 150 mm / A6) paper format for label printers.
- Buy the label and save the PDF to your phone. Pirate Ship says a label is "created as a PDF file you can print from your computer (or phone or tablet) just like any other file". On iPhone its guide starts with the Download PDF or Download Label button; on Android it has you open the print menu, choose Select a Printer and then Save as PDF. Shopify warns that on Android, Chrome "might automatically download" the label instead of opening a print dialog.
- Connect the printer in its own app. For the Phomemo 241BT, download Labelife from Google Play or the Apple App Store, turn the printer on, turn on Bluetooth and keep both devices within 3 meters. Phomemo says the app "requires turning on Bluetooth and location permissions".
- Get the label into the app and print. Phomemo's product page says you can connect the 241BT to a phone via Bluetooth and "start printing in just a few taps". Phomemo's help article on adjusting settings covers changing the paper type and size in Labelife, so set 4x6 there before you print on a real label. Phomemo's connection articles do not show how a platform's label gets into Labelife, so confirm that import route in the app's menus or the maker's current guide before you rely on it.
- Check the first label before you batch. Etsy's help page warns that "If the label print is distorted, package scanners may not be able to read your label". Pirate Ship says it never charges to reprint a label you have already bought, and that each label should be used only once.
What the platforms say about printing from a phone
| Platform | Phone route in its help pages | Where it ends |
|---|---|---|
| Pirate Ship | No mobile app; the website works on any device and labels are PDFs | iPhone: Download, Share, Print, choose a printer. Android: Save as PDF, then "send that file to the printer of your choice" |
| Shopify | In the Shopify app, open the order and tap Print shipping label | iPhone: "Tap Printer, then select your printer". Android: open the downloaded file, then Print |
| eBay | In the eBay app: Selling, Orders, the order, Manage shipping | "Purchase and print or reprint one or multiple labels"; the page names no printer types |
| Etsy | Help page covers downloading the PDF and printing it | No phone steps on that page |
Pirate Ship's Android guide is the one that leaves room for a Bluetooth printer: it describes printing "using the default printing service, your printer brand's app, or another third-party app". For iPhone, Pirate Ship's guide covers AirPrint printers only. If you would rather skip the app step, eBay and Pirate Ship both offer QR codes. eBay says you can "choose the QR code option where available", and Pirate Ship says it "can create a QR code that a carrier clerk can scan and print for you".
The three Bluetooth printers
| Printer | Amazon listing title | What the maker documents | Confirm before buying |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phomemo 241BT | "Phomemo Bluetooth Thermal Label Printer, 241BT Label Printer & 20Pcs Labels" | Labelife app for iOS and Android; Bluetooth for phones, USB for computers; 203 dpi direct thermal | Phomemo recommends its own label paper |
| JADENS 4x6 Bluetooth | "JADENS Bluetooth Thermal Shipping Label Printer, Wireless 4x6 Label Printer" | Described from the listing title only | Model number, app, supported phone systems |
| Omezizy Bluetooth printer | "Bluetooth Shipping Label Printer with Built-in Label Bin" | Described from the listing title only | Model number, app, how labels load |
Phomemo 241BT. The best documented of the three. Phomemo's product page lists 203 dpi direct thermal printing at up to 150 mm/s, "USB for PC, Bluetooth for Mobiles", and says it "Supports iOS, Android and tablets via Bluetooth". Its help center lists the PM-241-BT among the printers that use the Labelife app and says the printer supports gap labels, black-mark labels and continuous paper. Phomemo also says the 241BT is "Not Compatible with HUOJI Thermal Labels" and recommends genuine Phomemo thermal label paper, so check the label brand before you stock up. The Amazon listing title says 20 labels are bundled. Check the current price of the Phomemo 241BT on Amazon.
JADENS 4x6 Bluetooth. The Amazon listing title calls it a "Bluetooth Thermal Shipping Label Printer, Wireless 4x6 Label Printer" and does not include a model number. The title does not say which app drives it or which phone systems it supports, so confirm both on the listing page, and match the model number to the maker's own specification page before relying on any claim. Check the current price of the JADENS Bluetooth printer on Amazon.
Omezizy Bluetooth printer. The Amazon listing title is "Bluetooth Shipping Label Printer with Built-in Label Bin". It does not say whether labels load as a roll or fan-fold stack, which label sizes fit, or which app drives the printer, so confirm those on the listing page. Check the current price of the Omezizy Bluetooth printer on Amazon.
Before you buy a Bluetooth label printer
- App first, printer second. The platform hands you a label file; for the Phomemo 241BT, Phomemo routes printing through its Labelife app, so for any Bluetooth printer read the app's store listing and the maker's help pages for how it imports a label, which iPhone and Android versions it supports, and the permissions it asks for.
- Direct thermal 4x6 labels. Pirate Ship says to buy direct thermal rather than thermal transfer label paper and to check that the roll's core fits.
- Label brand rules. Phomemo recommends its own paper for the 241BT. Ask the same question of any printer you consider.
- A computer fallback. Phomemo lists "USB for PC, Bluetooth for Mobiles", and its help center describes a USB setup on a Mac with a driver and the Labelife app from the Mac App Store.
- Permissions. Phomemo says the app needs location permission alongside Bluetooth.
When Bluetooth is not the best route
A Wi-Fi printer that supports AirPrint skips the app step on an iPhone. Rollo says its Wireless printer is AirPrint certified, "so it shows up in the standard iOS print menu", and its iPhone guide has you open the 4x6 PDF, tap Share, then Print. Rollo adds that printing from an Android phone is limited to 4x6 labels. The Brother QL-1110NWB lists Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and USB, and Pirate Ship says it can be hooked up to Windows, Mac, iOS or Android. Brother's product page also names a free iPrint&Label app for printing from an Apple or Android mobile device, so check whether you would still use an app there.
If the printer will not connect
Phomemo's help center lists these steps for the Labelife app: restart the printer, reopen the app and try again; connect the printer in the app rather than in the phone's Bluetooth settings; uninstall and reinstall the app and restart the printer and phone; and try the app on another phone to see whether the printer connects there. It also says to keep both devices within 3 meters.

Asked about this one
How do I print shipping labels from my phone with a Bluetooth printer?
Choose the 4x6 format before you buy the label, save it as a PDF on your phone, then print it through the printer's own app if it uses one. For the Phomemo 241BT that app is Labelife, and Phomemo's help center says to connect the printer in Labelife instead of pairing it directly to your phone's Bluetooth; its connection articles do not show how a platform's label gets into the app, so confirm that import route before you rely on it.
Do I need a computer as well as a phone?
Not necessarily. Phomemo lists "USB for PC, Bluetooth for Mobiles", so the phone route runs over Bluetooth through Labelife and the computer route uses USB. The listing titles for the JADENS and Omezizy printers do not say how they connect to a computer.
Can I print straight from the Shopify or eBay app to a Bluetooth printer?
Those help pages do not describe it. Shopify's iPhone steps end with "Tap Printer, then select your printer", and eBay's app steps cover purchasing and printing or reprinting labels without naming printer types. Phomemo's instructions have you connect inside Labelife instead of the phone's Bluetooth settings, so plan on saving the label and printing it from the printer's app.
What if I do not have a printer with me?
eBay and Pirate Ship both offer a QR code option, and Pirate Ship says a carrier clerk can scan its code and print the label for you. eBay says to look for the QR code option "where available"; Pirate Ship says the clerk prints it "at no additional cost".
Which label size should I choose?
Choose 4x6, the size the platforms' thermal-printer formats use, and confirm the printer takes it. Pirate Ship says USPS labels can be printed at 4x6 or 2x7 but UPS labels only come in 4x6, and Etsy says only USPS labels can be formatted for 4 x 6 label printers.
